The Jetboil SUMO is built around a 1.8L FluxRing cooking cup — generous enough to handle meals for two to three people without multiple rounds of cooking. What sets it apart from simpler boil-only systems is the proprietary regulator, which gives you genuine incremental heat control from a light simmer all the way up to a full boil. That means sautéed greens, simmered sauces, and actual camp cooking are all on the table, not just rehydrated meals and instant coffee.

The push-button igniter is reliable and consistent, and the system is regulated to perform down to -6 degrees C — a meaningful spec for Canadian paddlers and campers who don't pack up when the temperatures drop in September and October. The insulating cozy keeps contents hot once you're off the flame, and the whole system packs down to include the burner, fuel canister stabilizer, pot support, and either a 100g or 230g JetPower canister inside the cup.
